As a choreographer and dancer, I collaborated with visual artist Meng Chang to create Epoch, an immersive theater piece that explores coral bleaching through a multi-sensory ecological art space.

Meng Chang’s sculptural installation recreates the soundscape of the ocean, bringing real underwater recordings from Indonesia’s coral reefs to the audience. Dancers, equipped with sound-emitting devices, move like a school of fish, weaving through coral-like sculptures and the audience, embodying both the fragility and resilience of marine life.

Here, the audience is more than just an observer—they become part of the experience. They walk through a space where sound and light merge, run their fingers over coral textures, listen to the ocean’s breath, and feel the pulse of an ecosystem in motion. In this meeting of past and present, the vibrations of sound and reality intertwine, prompting deep reflection on environmental issues.
