As a choreographer and dancer, I collaborated with artist Meng Chang and Ai Jia to create Escaping the Truman Show, a new media dance film for the circular screen at Tank Shanghai Art Center. The piece portrays a dancer trapped in an invisible cage, struggling to break free. The UFO Terminal flickers in and out, hinting at both the longing to escape and the fear of the unknown. But the real barriers aren’t physical—they exist within us, built by social conditioning and the limits we place on ourselves.
